Thunder Hill Overlook
offers an exceptional view of the valley below and the
other mountain ranges in the background. It also offers a
wonderful opportunity to access the Appalachian Trail
which passes directly through the overlook area A small
picnic area is also proved at the overlook parking area
(only one table and fireplace area).
We at Liberty House Inn
have outlined a short Appalachian Adventure for those who
would like to experience the wonder of the trail.
Our Adventure begins on a
beautiful Virginia Mountain called Thunder Hill,
overlooking the Worlds oldest mountains and the valley
below. The purpose of this trip is simple --
enjoy the Blue
Ridge outdoors and Appalachian Trail experience without
unnecessary extreme physical hardship.
This is a trip well suited to the new backpacker or those
who are just exploring the sport for the first time....
